Hos Loftus, M.D
Dr. Hos Loftus, M.D is a distinguished neurologist with a focus on treating nerve and muscle diseases, currently serving patients in Gaston and Cleveland county regions of North Carolina. Dr. Loftus’ journey in the medical field began with the attainment of his Medical Degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran. Upon moving to the United States, he underwent residency training in neurology at the prestigious Boston Medical Center. He further honed his expertise through fellowships at renowned institutions such as the Cleveland Clinic, Emory University, and the University of Washington. Boasting a wealth of knowledge and experience, Dr. Loftus is certified in neurology by the esteemed American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a reputable organization committed to upholding the standards of excellence in the fields of psychiatry and neurology. In 2024, Dr. Loftus received the national recognition of “Top Doc” in the field of neurology and treatment of neuromuscular disorders.

Zainab Khan, PsyD
Zainab Khan is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. She is a Certified Clinician for Applied Neuroscience for Anxiety and Panic Disorders and Board Certified Autism Specialist. She is a nationally certified Hypnotherapist for Trauma and PTSD. She received her undergraduate education from Loyola University Chicago and her PsD from Roosevelt University Chicago. She continued post-graduate training from Viktor Frankl Institute of Logotherapy. Zainab received her post-graduate pediatric neuropsychology training from UIC Medical Center and has worked in inpatient hospitals and outpatient private practices. Zainab has over 15 years of experience in working with diverse populations. Her areas of experience include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD); PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder); survivors of suicide; intergenerational trauma; and she has specialized training in behavioral/emotional therapy for children and adolescents. Zainab has presented internationally on therapeutic interventions for children and adults that have experienced trauma.

Tanya Dortin
Tanya Dortin is a Board Certified and State Licensed Speech Language Pathologist at Carolinas Institute. She has over 15 years of experience cultivating language, communication, writing, and social engagement skills across several ages and settings. Tanya received her undergraduate education in English from Thiel College and continued with specialization in communication sciences to obtain her graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology from Edinboro University. She completed research and participated in peer-reviewed publications for traumatic brain injury and cognitive rehabilitation during her time at Edinboro while employed as a faculty research assistant. Tanya’s post-graduate career began with adult rehabilitation in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and group homes for individuals with intellectual disabilities. She specialized in swallowing disorders, stroke rehabilitation, acquired and traumatic brain injuries, cognitive rehabilitation, and dementia/memory care. Tanya was instrumental in creating a tracheostomy rehabilitation program in a long-term care setting by implementing cutting edge diagnostic and treatment methods for breathing modification, breath support techniques, intrinsic and extrinsic muscle training, and weaning from mechanical and adaptive breathing support devices.
She transitioned to pediatric care working with children and adolescents in private practice settings and focused her expertise to diagnose and treat early communication delay, articulation and speech sound remediation, phonological awareness and processing, social and pragmatic communication impairments, and training for non-verbal communication including sign language and augmentative alternative communication (AAC) modalities. Tanya is known for her whole-family approach to communication sciences and using culturally appropriate and trauma-informed, interdisciplinary treatment approaches for best patient outcomes. In her free time, Tanya enjoys spending time running outdoors, baking, crafting, volunteering with her church, and spending time with her two Golden Retrievers, Charles Barkley and Louis von Lichtenstein.
